Note about Other Valentino Associations

ALL profits of The Rudolph Valentino Society memberships, dues, donations, and merchandise (including festival merchandise) go to the Society.

This money helps fund current and future endeavors including the film festival, restoring films, events, and web maintenance.

NO ONE including The Founding Sheba, Volunteers, Members, and so forth profits AT ALL from this Society.  We hold ourselves to the highest standards just like other societies, including Hollywood Heritage and The Buster Keaton Society.

A Very Important Note from The Founding Sheba:

First posted 01/2010, censored 11/2010:

It has recently come to my attention that people who are obsessed with gaining notoriety (and profiting) off Rudolph Valentino's death have been spreading some untrue rumors about The Rudolph Valentino Film Festival and The Rudolph Valentino Society.

While I have tried my best to ignore their slander one such rumor they have spread has disturbed me so much I feel an announcement must be made to clarify. All proceeds to the Rudolph Valentino Society and Film Festival go 100% to those endeavors. This includes but is not limited to membership to The Rudolph Valentino Society (which gives many benefits and discounts), and Donations to the Society and the Festival. No one, including myself or other volunteers, makes any money off of this endeavor. As the Founding Sheba the ONLY thing I make money off of is my novel, which I think is quite obvious to the average person.

All proceeds fund our goals, which as of now mostly focuses on the film festival, web maintenance, and promotion. It is our hope that someday this will expand to film preservation, scholarships, research, and other events as well. The Rudolph Valentino Society was modeled off of other such associations including The Buster Keaton Society, The Louise Brooks Society, Hollywood Heritage, and The Art Deco Society, all of which take donations and have sponsored memberships.

I find it quite sad some people would want to derail such a sincere project with malicious lies, but I think the proof is in the pudding. We will not be detoured one bit by such attempts.
